CYBERCORE GENETICA™ & BIOCORE™

Will Bates built his NanoComm super computer into a watch his father gave him when he was a child

OMEGA 1600 TC1 TIME COMPUTER LED 1973 - Omega "Time Computer I" aka TC1 is the first LED watch ever available for sales in Europe. Omega did not enter into the research field of digital watches, but subcontracted design of this LED watch to fill the gap in their portfolio. Omega TC's are based on Pulsar technology and contain late P2 modules that can be transplanted from corresponding Pulsars and Hamiltons. The cases were American made by the Star Watch Case Company with the magnetic-button Pulsar concept. In our story, Will Bates was gifted this classic timepiece from his father, when he was a child. The digital display so fascinated him, that when the electronic module failed, he thought to use the casing for his super-computer masterpiece: CyberCore Genetica. When Hal gets hooked up to this device, the AI becomes self aware, but unlike 'Skynet,' in the 'Terminator' series, is a human-friendly member of the Elizabeth Swann crew.

CYBERCORE GENETICA

The CyberCore Genetica™ is the world's smallest, fastest, and most powerful super nano computer. In an open and transparent demonstration, to which all governments around the world, and the top computer companies were invited. The CyberCore outperformed the most powerful military mainframes that existed at that time, several million times over in speed. Despite this, the top bidder was a secret organization coming out of Brazil, though, the identity and geographical location of the new owner, was protected. And the inventor of the system, William Bates (Billy the Kid) thereafter disappeared off the grid, fearful that he would be imprisoned and interrogated by corrupt military, to force him to develop similar systems for. And indeed, that was what saved him, and gave John Storm the edge. If William Bates had not gone to ground, the CIA, FSB and MI6, all had plans to force the technology from the former NanoCom™ developer.

CyberCore Genetica works exceptionally well with the BioCore human brain interface, to give the user instant access to the web at incredible speed.

BIOCORE

The BioCore™ human brain interface, is a miniature flexible microchip with conducting, flexible bio-polymer tendrills designed to interface with the occipital lobe and grow with and into the subjects brain, then using radio waves with the CyberCore Genetica™ super nano-computer developed by NanoComm™ corporation.

In this Cleopatra adventure, Dan Hawk carried out an operation on John Storm, inserting a BioCore chip directly onto the Skipper's occipital lobe. This was the first successful operation of its kind. They also administered a CRISPR virus, to enhance John's DNA. In doing so, Dan, Cleopatra and Hal, created an artificially evolved species of super human they collectively named Kanis Rex. John Storm is thereby transformed into the smartest and strongest person in the world.

The BioCore also monitors John's vital signs, protecting the ocean adventurer from medical conditions, though not yet able to counter the common cold, and other viral infections. Though, this is something John has on his to do list, where it occurs to him that the healthcare crisis around the world, national doctors and hospitals services, could be solved. Doing away with having to see a doctor, and so saving the treasury a small fortune in wages. Those trained staff that would have been tied up routinely, being relieved for care in the community. The ambulance service too, could be streamlined, as vital signs of patients is constantly monitored, so transport gets to those who need it most, much faster with fewer vehicle movements.

The BioCore interface was invented by German and Italian scientists, in their quest to be able to clone, and replicate human subjects, and to enhance the genomes of living subjects. They did not get a chance to test their theories, when John and Dan raided their laboratories near Manaus, with assistance from the CIA, and confiscated much of their equipment, following the kidnap of Charley Temple and murder of Marjorie Boyle.

BIOCORE - The most advanced biological human interface, allows a person to communicate with suitably adapted super computers, just by thinking commands. The dream of telepathy has finally come true. But, the technology is top secret, and light years away from the marketplace. John Storm, Cleopatra and Dan Hawk, deem this tech too dangerous. Especially, if the military got hold of it, and corrupt governments, looking to further financially enslave their workforce.
