AMAZON, BRAZIL

Jack Mason is a secret agent working for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). He is assigned to the anti drug task force, investigating the illegal drugs trade, emanating from Brazil and Columbia. There is a known link between the drug warlords and a Neo Nazi organization operating from somewhere along the Amazon, who are undertaking research that may help the drug cartel more successfully smuggle their products into other countries - undermining the economies of the G7 - and causing great human suffering.

The CIA is working with Scotland Yard and Interpol, in the war against drugs, money laundering and antiquities thefts. As per the Hague Convention and Blue Shield objectives.

Jack is prone to taking the odd bribe, turning a blind eye occasionally - when he needs the money, and there would be little harm done. Making him a sometimes double agent.

He does not like Nazis and is wary of occultists, treating them as being insane, but will still sell information on the side - if the price is right.

He is aware that human cloning has been on the agenda of some of the Drug producers in Columbia and that they are working with a Neo-Nazi group, or New World Order in the making, helping them develop technology in return for finance and protection. If he can get his hands on this tech, he can retire - hence the conflict of interests with his duty to protect his contacts.

Jack knows of John Storm, and the potential usefulness of the DNA collection aboard the Elizabeth Swann. He has passed this information to Baron Richthofen in return for gaining their confidence, and a handsome reward. This leads to Charley being taken hostage. But also gains in intelligence, such as knowledge of operations off the coast of Egypt.

Finally, when John square's up to Jack as to Cleopatra being kidnapped, he admits that he was forced by DARPA and other agencies to help lure the Nile Queen into the frame. Though, he was told she'd not be harmed by director Dr Stefan Raengst and Iras Charmian, director of National Intelligence, both reporting to Homeland Security and President Linc Truman. Though, everyone in these agencies knew he was deliberately kept out of the loop - via plausible deniability exception.
