<<<<<< COASTGUARD PATROL

EGYPT

The Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities had been monitoring the Alexandrian coast after the quake, looking for minute seismic aftershocks. A very brief underwater survey of that area of coastline with submersible ROVs, did not yield much useful information. They ignored media reports telling of Ahmed Saleh's find, except for a routine follow up. Not finding his claims credible. But when they found he had been registered as a missing person by one of his crew, that ramped things up quite a bit.

THE VATICAN, ROME, ITALY

In Rome, the Catholic Church were more than a little concerned. The Vatican knew from Interpol, that a secret society, thought to be descendents of escaped Nazi war criminals, had been sniffing around Egypt looking for Hatshepsut and Nefertiti. Unsuccessfully. Now the suspected Neo-Nazi like organization had moved to Taposiris Magna, presuming their interests lay in finding the whereabouts of the lost Pharaoh; Cleopatra VII.

Where was their expert anthropological investigator when all this was going on. He was up the Amazon chasing rumors of the Panamanian Running Man. What had that to do with a sunken city and a sixteen hundred and sixty year old earthquake?

Secretly, the Vatican feared the worst, as the obvious outcome if the antagonists were successful. The psuedo resurrection of a Pharaoh Queen, to in some measure undermine the public perception of that of Christ, as being unique, suggestive that Egyptian beliefs held sway. Since Cleopatra VII died just 30 years before the birth of the Son of God. But all of this was behind closed doors speculation. The official version was a suspected violation of the Hague Convention in process - even though not during a conflict, certainly funding, aiding and abetting what could be perceived as terrorist activities. Attracting the attention of Blue Shield and UNESCO. The desecration of a tomb of international importance, where the unauthorized removal of a cultural heritage artifact, such as Cleopatra's sarcophagus, would constitute major vandalism and significant loss of a National icon for Egypt, that was beyond price. 

Good luck with that the Vatican thought, but one cannot be too careful with so much at stake.

The Pontiff did not push a few buttons. He pushed all of them.

That meant MI6 getting in on the act, to cover up the theft of the UK's DNA database, putting millions at risk as to data protection infringement. The Minister's head was on the chopping block, with the PM breathing down his neck. Jack Mason was hauled in to have words with the head of black ops at Langley, Virginia. The big cheeses at UNESCO were also on the case, leaning on Interpol, who finally issues a Red Notice, involving Blue Shield. MI6 and the CIA appointed Jack Mason as go between. Impressing on him the urgency of the situation.

ANDREWS AIR FORCE BASE, MARYLAND, USA

Jack Mason, took a chopper from Langley to Andrews air force base, then a fighter jet to an aircraft carrier operating in the South Atlantic, a few hundred miles east of French Guiana. From there he assembled a team to helicopter into the Amazon some way distant to Manaus. No need to advertise they were coming. It would have to be a Sikorsky SH60 Seahawk, the Black Hawk not quite having the range to penetrate that far inland, and make a safe return. Though, the carrier would take them as close inshore as they dare.

THE VATICAN, ITALY - CONCILIATION

In the hallowed halls of the Vatican, a tense meeting was underway. A solemn conclave of Cardinals from around the world gathered in the opulent chambers to discuss a matter of grave importance: the rapid advancements in medical science. A new era of healing was dawning, an era where diseases once thought incurable were now within reach.

Pope Peter Benedict, a man of faith and reason, presided over the meeting. He had witnessed firsthand the power of modern medicine, having been cured of a life-threatening illness. Yet, he was also aware of the potential dangers of unchecked scientific progress.

"We must approach this new era with caution and wisdom," the Pope declared. "While we embrace the potential benefits of medical science, we must also be mindful of its limitations."

A Cardinal, a staunch traditionalist, rose to speak. "These scientific advancements, Your Holiness, could lead to a dangerous erosion of faith. People may begin to rely on technology rather than on divine intervention."

The Pope nodded, acknowledging the concern. "It is true that some may misuse these technologies. But we must not let fear dictate our actions. We must find a way to reconcile faith and science. For when does man's ingenuity become divine intervention, since God created man?"

The Cardinals, sensing the Pope's inclination, began to shift their stance. They recognized that the Church could not afford to be left behind. It must adapt to the changing world, or risk becoming irrelevant. It must embrace the future without compromising its core beliefs. 

Another Cardinal, a progressive thinker, spoke up. "Perhaps we could embrace these advancements, framing them as a gift from God. We could argue that science is a tool, a means to an end, and that it can be used to alleviate suffering and promote human flourishing, then we have a moral obligation to do so."

As the meeting concluded, the Pope knew that the Church was at a crossroads.

The Pope considered the suggestions. "These are a compelling arguments. We could position the Church as a leader in the field of bioethics, guiding the development of these technologies in a way that aligns with our moral principles."

The discussion continued, with the Cardinals debating the merits and risks of embracing scientific progress. In the end, the Pope made a decision. The Church would not reject science but would embrace it with caution. They would work to ensure that these new technologies were used for the betterment of humanity, not for its destruction.

THE UNDERWORLD - A DIVINE PERSPECTIVE

In the ethereal realm, Anubis and Isis watched the proceedings of the Vatican conclave with keen interest. They were impressed by the Pope's wisdom and foresight. Anubis and Isis took on board the progressive stance of living leaders of the Roman Catholic faith. Very much in awe as to their logic. Being in agreement, that the spirit world might also adopt such progressive stance.

"The humans are evolving," Anubis observed, his voice a low rumble. "They are learning to balance tradition with progress."

Isis, her divine eyes filled with hope, nodded in agreement. "Their leaders are beginning to understand the potential of science and technology. They are embracing the future, while honoring the past."

"The Pope's decision to support scientific advancement is a significant step," Anubis continued. "It opens the door to new possibilities, including the rebirth of souls."

Isis smiled. "The time is ripe, Anubis. The technology is advancing, and the human spirit is yearning for transcendence. Cleopatra's return is imminent."

They discussed the successful cloning of the Panamanian Running Man, a testament to the power of human ingenuity. 

"If the DNA of a modern human can be replicated and enhanced thus," Anubis mused, "then surely the DNA of an ancient pharaoh can be brought to life."

"We must prepare," Isis said. "The rebirth of Cleopatra will be a momentous occasion, a turning point in the history of the universe."

As they watched the unfolding drama on Earth, they felt a sense of satisfaction. Their divine plan was coming to fruition. The ancient and the modern, the spiritual and the scientific, were converging, and a new era was dawning.
