THE AMAZON RIVER, ALL SPEED TO ALEXANDRIA

Meanwhile, John Storm, driven by a sense of destiny, raced towards Taposiris Magna. His arrival, orchestrated by the divine powers, would disrupt Richthofen's plans and set Cleopatra free.

As John drew closer, Anubis and Isis smiled. They had faith in the human spirit, in the power of love and compassion. They believed that John Storm, with his pure heart and unwavering determination, would be the one to guide Cleopatra towards her true destiny.

The divine intervention had succeeded. John Storm had arrived, a beacon of hope in the darkness. 

BRAZIL TO ALEXANDRIA - NINE DAY REGENERATION, STORM BREWING

The Elizabeth Swann sliced through the turquoise waters of the Atlantic, bound for Alexandria. Inside, however, a different kind of storm was brewing within John Storm. Nine days had passed since the chaotic escape from the Manaus laboratory, nine days since the accidental injection. Nine days that had transformed him, and his appetite. He'd been eating for a Legion. With massive protein snacks in between meals.

Each dawn brought a new revelation. Day one: a subtle shift. He felt… lighter. The usual aches and stiffness after a night’s sleep were gone. Day two: his vision sharpened. He could see the individual fronds of palm trees lining the distant Brazilian coast, a clarity he’d never possessed before. Day three: a strange tingling in his ears, followed by the ability to hear the faintest splash of a dolphin miles away.

By day four, the changes were undeniable. He’d casually lifted a crate of supplies, expecting the usual strain, only to find it weightless. He’d looked down at his arms, noticing a subtle increase in muscle definition. “Something’s happening to me,” he’d muttered to himself, a mixture of awe and apprehension in his voice.

Days five and six saw his strength escalate exponentially. He could now effortlessly perform tasks that previously required a team. He felt an almost electric current coursing through him, a raw power that both thrilled and frightened him. His sense of smell became so acute he could distinguish the individual spices in the ship’s galley from the deck above.

Charley and Dan, ever observant, were becoming increasingly concerned. “John, you’ve changed,” Charley said on day seven, her brow furrowed. “You’re… bigger. Stronger.”

Dan nodded, “Remember that scuffle in the lab, when you got jabbed with that needle? It must have been something they were working on. Some kind of… experiment.”

John shrugged, trying to appear nonchalant. “I feel fine,” he lied, not wanting to alarm them. He knew “fine” was an understatement. He was experiencing something extraordinary, something that defied explanation.

On day eight, the full extent of his transformation became clear. He playfully scooped up Charley and Dan, one under each arm, lifting them as if they were feather pillows. Their surprised laughter echoed across the deck. 

“John!” Charley exclaimed, “Put us down! What are you, a giant?”

He gently set them down, a sheepish grin on his face. 

“I… I don’t know,” he admitted, the truth finally spilling out. “I feel… different. Stronger. Faster. Everything’s… heightened.”

Day nine arrived with a sense of culmination. John felt a surge of energy, a complete integration of his newfound abilities. He was no longer just strong; he was… more. He could feel the subtle vibrations of the ship’s engines, the minute changes in the wind’s direction, the individual heartbeats of Charley and Dan as they stood nearby. He had become a symphony of enhanced senses and raw power.

He also realised something else. He had mastered it. He could control this new strength, this enhanced perception. He could blend into the world, interface with it without giving away his secret. He could choose to be ordinary, or extraordinary, at will.

As the Elizabeth Swann approached the shores of Alexandria, John Storm stood at the helm, gazing at the ancient city rising from the horizon. He was no longer just John Storm, adventurer. He was something… more. And he liked it.

MANAUS TO ALEXANDRIA IN NINE DAYS

It took nine days, nine hours to complete the journey from Manaus to Alexandria.

As they closed on the bustling port, grey clouds shrouded their arrival, shortly displaced by vibrant sunshine piercing the cloud with orange and yellow filters illuminating their passage in true biblical fashion, like a divine spotlight showing the way.

In the ethereal realm, Anubis and Isis watched with keen interest as John Storm and his companions raced across the ocean. The sleek, hydrogen-powered ship, a marvel of human ingenuity, cut through the waves with astonishing speed.

"The humans have surpassed themselves," Anubis remarked, his voice filled with wonder. "Their technology is advancing at an incredible pace. Their knowledge surpasses even our wildest dreams."

Isis nodded in agreement. "Humans have come a long way and yet, their hearts remain the same. They are driven by love, by loss, and by the eternal quest for knowledge."

Anubis paused, his gaze fixed on John Storm. "He bears a striking resemblance to Mark Antony, both in appearance and in spirit, does he not. Let us hope that history does not repeat itself."

Isis chuckled. "Fear not, Anubis. John Storm is a man of noble intentions. He seeks to right wrongs and protect the innocent."

"Still, we must remain vigilant," Anubis cautioned. "The heart is a fickle thing, easily swayed by passion."

"Let us hope that he does not repeat the mistakes of the past. Love can be a powerful force, but it can also be a destructive one."

Anubis considered her words. "We must guide him, protect him from the darkness. His destiny is intertwined with Cleopatra's, and he must be strong enough to resist temptation."

Isis smiled knowingly. "The future is uncertain, Anubis. But we can guide his path, steer him towards the light."

As the ship approached the shores of Egypt, the two deities exchanged a silent vow. They would watch over John Storm, protect him from the darkness, and ensure that he fulfilled his destiny. The fate of Cleopatra, and perhaps the future of humanity, rested in his hands.

The ancient secrets of Egypt, once buried deep beneath the sands of time, were about to be unearthed. And with them, the potential for both great good and great evil.

PARTING WAYS

The Elizabeth Swann glided silently into the port of El Dekheila, the ancient city of Alexandria shimmering on the horizon. John, at the helm, felt a strange sense of detachment, a lingering echo of the CRISPR virus that had altered his perception of the world. He glanced at Dan, who was busy monitoring the ship's systems.

"Ready to drop Miss Temple?" John asked.

Dan nodded. "Aye, Captain. Seems like the perfect spot. Close enough to Cairo, but still discreet."

Soon, a small motorboat, pre-arranged by Hal, approached the Elizabeth Swann. Charley, looking both apprehensive and excited, stepped aboard.

"Thank you, John," she said, her voice sincere. "And thank you, Dan. And… thank you, Hal." She gave a small nod towards the ship's AI, who acknowledged her with a subtle chime.

"You take care, Charley," John said, a hint of concern in his voice. "Stay safe."

"I will," she promised, her eyes lingering on John for a moment longer. "And you… be careful. I'll keep in touch."

With a final wave, Charley boarded the motorboat and sped away towards the shore. John watched her go, a strange sense of loneliness washing over him. He had grown accustomed to her presence, her sharp wit a welcome counterpoint to the seriousness of their mission.

"She'll be fine," Dan said, sensing his unease. "She's a resourceful one."

John nodded, turning his attention back to the ship's navigation.

As the Elizabeth Swann slipped further into the harbor, John couldn't shake the feeling that their paths would cross again soon. The shadows of "Project Sunrise" loomed large, and he knew that Charley, with her sharp intellect and unwavering determination, would play a crucial role in unraveling the mysteries that lay ahead.

Later that day, while navigating the bustling streets of Cairo, Charley hailed a taxi and headed towards the majestic Cairo Museum.

AWAKENING - In the afterlife, the DNA extracted from Cleopatra's mummy triggers a divine stirring with Anubis and Isis comforting the Nile Queen.

REPLICANT - The Society reproduce Cleopatra using Francisco's RepliVator™, uploading synapse sequence and implanted memories.

BRAIN CONDITIONING - Klaus and Franco upload digitally recreated memories in historical order to trigger correct learned synapse firing sequence

REBORN - The former Queen of Egypt speaks for the first time to her creators, proving that her brain is working, the implants succeeded.
