BRAZILIAN 4th REICH MASTERPLAN

Adolf needed a faithful following to help him pull off the impossible. He would need to form a special group, if Joseph Mengele's plan was to stand any chance of success. The 'Circle of Six' was born.
<<<< ANGEL OF DEATH
BERLIN, GERMANY, 1945 - IMMINENT DEFEAT
Early July in 1944, the German war machine was slowly grinding to a halt, from constant advances by the allied forces. The pattern was unmistakable to many a loyal Nazi, five years into the engagement: overextended as it then was, Germany would be bound to lose the war.
As a top scientist, Josef Mengele, known as the 'Angel of Death,' had formulated a reserve plan to conserve Nazi ideals, that he was desperate to get in front of the top brass, to obtain authorization to proceed and redirect the very necessary funds - so to expedite. Mengele's reputation preceded him. Heinrich Himmler, had given Mengele all the facilities he could, as part of his "Total Solution." And 'Doctor Death' had not let him down. That in itself qualified Germany's top anthropologist for special treatment. Even in complicated times.
"That persistent swine Mengele, still seeks an audience with the Führer."
Heinrich Himmler had been petitioned constantly, for more than a month. But wanted a better understanding, before taking any possibly harebrained scheme to the Chancellor. Fearful of displeasing his leader, and falling from favour. No matter how unlikely such a scenario might be.
"Ja. But what is it all about Heinrich. Does he want more money for experiments or exterminations?
"He will not say, except that it is of the utmost importance, Martin.
The Nazi Party Chairman, Martin Bormann, thought to meet Mengele. To see if he could elicit more detail.
"Please, Heinrich, would it be possible for you to arrange for me to visit him in, err - Auschwitz, isn't it?"
"Auschwitz? Is that a good choice. Why not have the doctor come to us, here in Berlin?"
"If that is a possibility, of course." Agreed Borman, ever the diplomat, and now having tacit approval for his suggestion.
Joseph Mengele was duly summoned to the Chancellery. A Gestapo escort was arranged from Auschwitz to Berlin. Making Mengele feel both uneasy and important at the same time, but inevitably so, when mixing in such high circles. Security surrounding the Führer had been stepped up, as if it had ever been lax. But there were rumours of discontent and plotting, that one did better to stay clear of.
The little Gestapo Citroen had to travel at a good speed to reach Berlin in under nine hours, having travelled 560 kilometers (350 miles) at an average of 65 kilometers per hour (40 mph), being hampered by wartime checks. Even with a letter of express authorization from the Fuhrer himself. Even trying to rest during the journey, Mengele was drained.
A black Citroen swung in front of the impressive building, adorned with long draped red flags, bearing the Swastika symbol in black on a white circle. Armed guards at the entrance respectfully saluted the Gestapo escort, with a click of jackbooted heels and crisp "Seig Heil."
Mengele was led inside the foyer up a polished wooden staircase of magnificent proportions, lined with great artworks. Then down a corridor, lined with red carpets, into an office, first having knocked on the door, and waited for an invitation to enter.
"Come," said a dark brown voice from within.
The black leather coated escort entered, with Mengele trailing, and a third escort bringing up the rear.
"Gut. Please vait outside gentlemen, if you have the time." Martin Borman did not often mince worlds with subordinates. The trio of burly secret police, duly exited, and closed the tall wooden doors behind them. They stood to attention outside.
"Pleased to meet you in person Herr Doctor."
"The privilege ist mein," replied Mengele. "Good of you to see me, danke."
"Well, what's it all about. Be brief."
This time the passengers departed by light aircraft without an escort. Cutting the travel time down to four hours. The map above shows possible road routes, for an eleven hour journey.
"Can I have your assurance that what I am about to reveal is only to go before those loyal to the cause, unt, shared with as few as possible. I'd rather explain the details to der Führer himself. For security reasons. No disrespect intended."
"Ya. Security ist our great concern. Equal to that of time wasting in High Command." Martin Borman smiled. "For years I have been our Leader's personal secretary. I have heard praise of your genetics advancements from Herr Himmler, which may have some military interest ..."
Mengele's eyes narrowed, his moustache twitched. "Let's not beat around the bush, I'm interested in saving what has been achieved, should the glow of the immediate struggle become extinguished, for want of forward planning." The doctor's voice was harder. Commanding attention.
"Forward planning? Are you suggesting incompetence on the part of the Axis powers, or Germany?"
"I'm sure you will have read my dossier forwards and backwards Herr Borman. You will know then I am fully committed to the cause - not a time waster, or prone to flights of fancy. But on the delicate subject of competence, and how that is often misconstrued as treasonable thinking, that is not tolerated. What I need to impart, for the sake of the Reich, should be given top priority. I'll stake my reputation on it, and resign immediately, if der Führer remains unconvinced, within minutes of a meeting."
"Impressive Herr doctor. Full marks. You have my attention. Resignation, you are sure it means that much?"
"Resignation, ya. This is a "what if" matter. Should High Command already have such a solution to the "What If," I will resign, or you can stand me against a wall and shoot me to seal my lips, my work already done. I remain convinced though, that the Wehrmacht will need my specialist input."
"Remarkable. Can you give me just a little more perhaps?"
"Nein Herr Borman, with regret. Not without der Führer's ears. But if it helps to persuade, you will be part of this. Of that I am positive."
"I will? That is interesting. Alright then, reluctant though I am. I have to be honest."
Mengele shrugged. Of course, Herr Borman had a right to his opinion and to cover his back.
Borman lifted the handset of a red bakelite telephone and dialed a direct line to the Wolf's Lair, and Hitler's private office. The call was answered promptly.
"Wie kann ich helfen?"
"Heil, oh crafty Wolf. I have a very convincing Joseph Mengele sitting with me. He wishes to speak with you urgently on a delicate matter, he claims is of some importance to the Reich."
Adolf Hitler was on the other end of the phone, silent for a few moments as he remembered Mengele; an officer known for genetic works of some distinction. "Vat ist so important to call me now, ve have an important meeting coming up?"
"The doctor says he'd rather be shot than fail to report to you in person. He claims the subject concerns the Third Reich, and will not relay his concerns - third party - for security reasons."
"A matter of Reich security. Very well then. Have him escorted to me here tomorrow. Maximum secrecy I think Martin."
"Jawoll mein Führer," said the Nazi party chairman, giving a short involuntary salute to underscore his serious intent.
"Herr doctor, you must go immediately to the Führer. Unt, I vill accompany you. You agree?"
Mengele sighed with relief, where others would have shaken with fear. " Ganz gut. Danke, danke."
The Fieseler Fi 156 Storch is a single-engine two- or three-seat STOL observation and liaison aircraft produced by the German manufacturer Gerhard-Fieseler-Werke GmbH. The plane is renowned for it's remarkable short field takeoff and landing characteristics and extremly low stalling speed of 50 km/h (31 mph / 27 kt). The Fi 156 is able to take off in less than 45 m (150 ft) and land in 18 m (60 ft).
Borman got up and opened one of the two enormous wooden doors. "Gentlemen, we leave immediately for Görlitz. You will tell nobody, and make no radio or telephone communications from now until we report our arrival. We need complete secrecy. Is that understood?"
"Jawoll," Herr Borman." The three leather coated Gestapo officers saluted and clicked the heels of their boots. They knew whatever was afoot, it was extremely important.
Two more Gestapo cars were ordered to form an impromptu convoy. Destination unnamed, but must be fully refuelled. Mengele raised a question mark over the mode of transport.
"Herr Borman, I've just suffered a seven and a half hour road trip, in quite a cramped vehicle. Might we avail ourselves of a light plane?"
"Gut point Herr Doctor. We'll call on the Luftwaffe."
Borman ordered the three Gestapo agents to remain in Berlin, incommunicado, for at least four hours. He was taking no chances.
The duo departed almost immediately. Speed being essential to both preempt and contain intelligence leaks. Four hours later, their borrowed Fieseler Storch landed on a short clearing in the trees. Gorman and Mengele alighted from the compact aircraft, relatively fresh to the challenge ahead, having grabbed some shut-eye, despite the droning V8 engine.
They were escorted into the Wolf's Lair, a sizeable military bunker of concrete, covered with camouflage netting, branches and foliage. It was somewhat reminiscent of a Mayan pyramid in form, tucked into the Masurian woods, almost invisibly. Refreshments were on offer as soon as they entered the reception, roast Boor, or Venison and Apfelstrudel mit crème. They ate a hearty meal, and drank a little wine, which served to defuse their urgency. But, the diversion gave their Leader time to tidy his immediate workoad.
It was not long before they heard the bark of der Führer himself, echoing down a corridor, sending a shiver down Mengele's spine, and giving him butterflies in his stomach at the thought of the imminent encounter. The echoing clack of leather boots on stone came ever closer, until a door swung wide, to reveal the Chancellor in a brown tunic and black tie, resplendent with medals.
"Bitte, be seated gentlemen, I'm consumed with interest. Martin, good of you to come." Hitler greeted his old friend with a firm handshake, then clicked his fingers to order more refreshments, "schnapps, cafe." Hitler moved to Joseph Mengele, extending his hand. The doctor stood and shook hands enthusiastically, also saluting, before being seated again.
"Wunderbar. Now, tell me what troubles you Herr Mengele?"
Mengele waited until the doors were closed and Hitler was comfortable.
"Mein Fuhrer, I'm an anthropologist and medical doctor." Hitler nodded and shrugged, to show he knew that.
"In my work, I've been in a fortunate position to be able to study and compile valuable data on modern humans, Homo Sapiens. Having assembled some of the best scientific minds today, I, er, we believe, it will soon be possible to genetically enhance the Aryan bloodline, to remove contamination from other species, um, nationalities."
"Vat? I am aware of cross-breeding, unt ve haf made it law that such playful practices shall cease."
"Indeed. But I'm not just talking about ways to prevent that. I'm suggesting that we might increase strength and mental agility of selected subjects. We'd have super soldiers."
There was a stunned silence. A minute passed. Mengele waited until that bombshell has sunk in. Slowly, a wide grin formed on the Fuhrer's features. "Continue, bitte."
Martin Borman sat looking somewhat puzzled and yet most alert to the possibilities, his mind racing. He remained silent, then unable to contain himself, went to speak.
"Nein Martin." Hitler shook his arm and head together. He nodded for Mengele to continue.
"Okay, thank you. It occurs to me that if we make this breakthrough, and any of our work is discovered, sufficiently to be copied. Our enemies might catch up with our many years of difficult research, almost overnight. Unt, ve vill haf lost our advantage."
Mengele made a fist and rammed it into his other hand, so much it meant to him.
Hitler and Borman, both nodded. In taking the doctor's body language on board, and being equally uneasy in such matters. Mengele took this as a sign to keep going.
"If I might be somewhat controversial for a moment. I have reservations about troop and naval movements being guessed at with alarming regularity, almost as if the English and Americans know our every move. Even if I am out of line on that, and please forgive me for the suggestion, it bodes us well to keep what we know within this room, and only share with the most dedicated officers in the Wehrmacht."
"How sure of success are you doctor?" asked Hitler, straight to the point. Borman leaned forward to hear the answer more clearly.
"At the present rate of technology acceleration, I am convinced what I am telling you will come to fruition. But we must reserve these developments for the Reich. Unt, I haf a plan. Is this of interest?"
"Ja, most certainly," blurted Hitler and Borman as one. Hitler continued, "you will not be shot it seems."
The group laughed out loud. Mengele - very relieved at the spontaneous outburst.
"Gut, then may I speak my mind more freely, in safety. Ja?"
"Bitte, you have my word I'll not berate you for anything you say in this company."
"My proposal is simple in concept, but not without difficulty in execution. Such a project would need only the knowledge of our finest leaders in their field. Herman Göring, Karl Donitz, unt Erwin Rommel, mit Martin here - unt of course myself - under the command of yourself, Mein Fuhrer. I'd suggest that only six persons at most, present company included, should know about the plan."
"Ya, but vat ist der plan?"
"Mein Fuhrer, we simply duplicate our laboratories. The ones we have at Auschwitz unt Buchenwald. Then, we relocate only the very best brains from these locations in Europe, to a location beyond the reach of the Allied forces, who at present, represent an unacceptable risk, being geographically, almost on top of us. Preventing me for taking the next steps, for lack of feeling suitably sheltered."
"Ah, so. That makes sense. You have been holding back?" Hitler smiled inwardly. "Unt nobody knows what you haf done?"
"Nein. I had no choice but to keep what I know to myself, for fear of revealing too much. Not until I had a chance to take your further instructions. I have been trying to reach you for over a month now."
"You have done well Herr doctor. Very well. So what next. How do we proceed?" Hitler made a mental note to chastise whoever blocked these vital communications. It was of course his good friend Himmler.
"I, or rather, we, as a small elite, would need assurances of cooperation in the matter of logistics. Hence, Goring unt Donitz."
"Fortunately, two of my most trusted supporters, as is Martin here." Said Hitler. Gut so far."
Martin nodded in agreement, and Mengele acknowledged the trust his recent traveling companion was now placing in him.
"Ja, my thinking also, when formulating this proposal."
Borman dived in, "you'll need considerable funding, in an alien location. How much and where?"
Hitler bid Mengele to answer the question.
"As a rough estimate, about the cost of building this complex, plus five hundred million Marks to be on the safe side, allowing for ten years of full staffing and equipment. We have about half of that from camp confiscations already. Needing authorization for our purpose, plus the safe passage requested."
"Ach so, not a short term plan, or quick fix. Unt nicht billig," interjected Martin.
"Nein. You get what you pay for. I'm proposing a plan the enemy will never suspect. A Reich, a new world order, built on indisputable superiority. Right on their doorstep, yet undetectable. Plus the potential for reinkarnation. A reserve plan - if you will."
"Reinkarnation? exclaimed Hitler."
"Reconstructing a past life with the code that makes us unique, from the code from the dead. Or, if you prefer, the code you pass on to your children. Family traits."
"Is that possible? asked Borman."
"In the laboratory we have grown human clones from cells artificially inserted in human ovum. Identical twins if you like. We are light years ahead of other researchers. We repeated it several times to be sure it was not luck."
Martin Bormann had a file on Josef Mengele in his attaché case. He had read about the doctor's work on twins, and noted Hitler's sudden increase in interest.
"If you will permit me, and no offence intended Herr doctor, but it is my job to be prepared."
Mengele accepted gracefully, anticipating that he'd be thoroughly screened. His confidence was borne of German efficiency.
Borman deftly extracted a maroon file from his leather case, marked 'Top Secret.' He opened it and leafed through several pages, to a section on 'twins,' then passed it to Adolf Hitler. Hitler scanned the document. Then read it again more carefully a second time.
"It is documented you have reproduced an identical twin, indistinguishable from the first. I thought you said you'd kept this to yourself?"
"Mein Fuhrer, the results are proven and documented. How it was achieved is not. It's like tasting a wonderful cake. You know it is good, but you don't know how the chef prepared it. Only, it's a bit more complicated."
The two politicians laughed. "Well, you bake a wundebar cake Herr Doctor." Hitler continued. "Does this mean you can make my twin?"
"Theoretically, yes. You've read the report. It's even possible to bring back a person from the dead, provided we have a well preserved cell to work with."
"Incredible. You should be prepared to duplicate me, if anything final happens. This is a binding condition for approval of the project. How about a beautiful female companion." Asked Hitler, jokingly, but dead serious.
"Who? Enquired Mengele, challengingly.
"How about that most intellectual seductress; Cleopatra?"
"If you mean the Egyptian Pharaoh, you'd need her well preserved mummy. It is possible, since the mummification process, tends to keep certain cells intact. But, I would not bet on it. It would be a very risky venture."
"Worthwhile if you could extract the good qualities of such a tactician, and combine with Aryan blood." Hitler mused.
"Well, it would be better to create her twin, then join with her to create a newborn child. From where you'd have high quality samples to work from. Hence, we'd need to twin the first subject, yourself, to be able to copulate with the reincarnated female. The second subject. Just theory of course."
Martin Borman was quizzical. "Are you saying that might actually work?"
"Ja, Herr Borman. That is precisely what I am saying. But we are getting somewhat off topic. I was proposing creating super soldiers, with vastly increased intelligence. Supercharging the evolution process, with shortcuts through millions of years of natural selection."
"Charles Darwin's theories?"
"Ja, but Darwin did not know about our twinning methods, mein Fuhrer. Sehr gut?"
"Besser als gut, ist Wunderbar." With that Hitler got up from his seat and grasped Mengele's hands tightly. "You will have what you need mein freund. I like your reserve vision immensely."
Joseph Mengele enjoined with Borman thanking him for pushing through this meeting, even at risk to his reputation, and possibly his life.
"It remains to make the arrangements and let our brothers in on the secret. Not too much mind you. Make yourselves comfortable for a while, but move on this with all haste. You have my blessing. Martin, please draft a suitable top secret 'Order' for me to sign." Hitler strode out of the room wafting his arms as if to music, and with a spring in his step, that was not there before.
"By Order of the Fuhrer," was more than Mengele could have hoped for.
