TAPOSIRIS MAGNA, EGYPT - THE PROPOSAL, BARON'S GAMBIT

The sterile white room seemed to shrink, the air growing thick with unspoken desires. Cleopatra, observing the man before her, found herself intrigued. Baron Heinrich Richthofen, a man of imposing stature and piercing blue eyes, exuded an aura of power that resonated with her own. He was unlike the scientists, their faces etched with awe and a touch of fear. This man, with his sharp features and steely gaze, saw her, truly saw her - a queen, a force to be reckoned with. 

He reminded her of a former conquest, newly emerging from the depths of her mind: Julius Caesar. The Roman general imperator. In Rome and Egypt it was common practice to seal unions between two countries by arranged marriages. Of this the reborn Cleopatra had it ingrained, in her psyche.

"Your Majesty," the Baron boomed, his voice a low rumble, "I am deeply impressed. Your grace, your intellect… it is truly a marvel."

He bowed deeply, a gesture that acknowledged her power while subtly asserting his own dominance. 

"I, Baron Heinrich von Richthofen, offer you my patronage. My resources, my influence, shall be at your disposal."

Cleopatra raised an eyebrow, studying him. "And what, Baron, do you seek in return for your generosity?"

The Baron smiled, a predatory glint in his eyes. 

"A partnership, Your Majesty. An alliance. You, with your wisdom and lineage, and I, with my wealth and influence, can achieve great things. Together, we can shape the future."

Cleopatra remained silent, weighing his words. An alliance with a powerful man like Richthofen could be advantageous. It would provide her with the resources and freedom she needed to navigate this strange new world. However, she was wary of his intentions.

"And what, pray tell," she inquired, her voice laced with a hint of amusement, "is the specific nature of this 'partnership'?"

The Baron leaned forward, his gaze intense. "A successor of course, Your Majesty. An heir to your legacy, a child born of our union. A child with the blood of royalty, with your intellect and my strength."

Cleopatra felt a shiver run down her spine. The proposal was audacious, yet not entirely unexpected. She had anticipated such offers would be forthcoming, and fended off many in her past life. 

"And what guarantees do I have that this is not merely a means to contain me?"

The Baron chuckled, a low, rumbling sound. 

"Contain? Your Majesty, I wouldn't hear of it. You are a force of nature, untamable. This is a partnership, an equal exchange. I offer my seed, my resources, and in return, I also gain an heir of unparalleled power and influence."

Cleopatra considered his words. A child, a successor… it was a tempting proposition. It would solidify her position, ensure her legacy, and provide a tangible link to the past. And perhaps, just perhaps, she could use this arrangement to her own advantage.

Ordinarily, she needed time to think, plot and scheme, but the proposal was a no-brainer. Except, there was no love here, it was just business, and she hated herself for that, no less than the Baron for forcing her hand. Where was her knight in shining armour?

"Very well, Baron," she said, her voice firm, yet resigned to her fate. "I accept your offer. But let it be understood. I am not a prize to be won. This is a partnership, as you said. I will not be a mere broodmare. I will retain my autonomy, my independence."

The Baron smiled again, with renewed sparkle in his eyes. 

"I am yours to command, Your Majesty. As I offer, this is a partnership. Now, let us discuss the details."

Cleopatra, with a steely resolve, prepared to navigate this new and treacherous terrain. She had been reborn, and she intended to make her mark on this new world, on her own terms.

The Baron had other ideas, though was a man of his word. First take care of business and seal the union. Then allow the Nile Queen her head, with gentle steerage, should her course deviate.

WASHING MACHINE - Inventor Franco Francisco comes up with the Incubus, artificial uterus concept while repairing his household appliance.

EXIT STRATEGY - Realising they will always be a target from industrial and military espionage, Jane & Will devise a cunning plan.

PATENT APPLICATION - Franco Francisco files his Claims with the Italian Intellectual Property Office (IPO) in Roma, Italia.

CYBERCORE GENETICA - Nano computer technology is purchased at an auction by a semi religious sect, New World Order.

INCUBUS - Roberta Ferrara secures the expertise of Franco Francisco for knights of the New World Order: Neuwelt Rittertum.

SPLICE - Klaus and Eva von Kolreuter find a way to live forever using cloning technology; Genonimo Investments, Geneva.

TREMORS - Cleopatra's feels vibrations after a shift in the tectonic plates triggered a tremor off the coast of Alexandria.

PANAMANIAN RUNNING MAN - The secret is out, an enhanced human is spotted running at unbelievable speeds.

THE ARK - NeuWelt Rittertum headhunt John Storm seeking access to his genetic DNA map of life on earth, but they fail to reach agreement.

KIDNAP - Charley is taken prisoner but John rescues her, in the process becoming injected with a serum.

SARCOPHAGUS OPENING - The wooden inner casket is opened revealing Cleopatra's mummy, golden crown and death mask, perfectly preserved.

AWAKENING - In the afterlife, the DNA extracted from Cleopatra's mummy triggers a divine stirring with Anubis and Isis comforting the Nile Queen.

REPLICANT - The Society reproduce Cleopatra using Francisco's RepliVator™, uploading synapse sequence and implanted memories.

BRAIN CONDITIONING - Klaus and Franco upload digitally recreated memories in historical order to trigger correct learned synapse firing sequence

REBORN - The former Queen of Egypt speaks for the first time to her creators, proving that her brain is working, the implants succeeded.

FULL STEAM AHEAD - Storm speeds to Thonis, then uses the Swann's AI sensors and the Ark database to find tomb has been plundered.

PROPOSAL - Baron von Richhofen's gambit, a union of Royal ancient and Aryan blood, for strength and intellect, a powerful heir as her successor

RITUAL SACRIFICE - The Baron prepares a drugged Cleopatra for ceremonial impregnation.
