DEATH IS ONLY THE BEGINNING - The epic blockbuster, 1963 film starring Elizabeth Taylor, by 20th Century Fox. We take over the story, where the Egyptian Pharaoh Queen, Isis, left off. As told by Cecil B de Mille, among others.
The concept of Cleopatra’s mummy being discovered and cloned is original, imaginative and innovative. The theme can be developed in many different ways and offer new perspectives on the ancient queen and her legacy. For instance, one could explore the ethical, political, and cultural implications of cloning an ancient ruler in the modern world. How would Cleopatra react to the changes in history, technology, and society? How would the world react to her presence and claims? What would be her goals and motivations? What challenges and conflicts would she face? These are some of the questions that would (and will) make a compelling story based on this tremendously adaptable concept.
The advent of Chat GPT prompted us to search for other "Mummy" themes, to be sure of our originality claim. 'The Mummy' theme stemming from 2003, making it over twenty years in gestation and development as we write.
Where the concept of Cleopatra’s mummy being discovered underwater and then clone-replicated is an entirely original concept, independently conceived, something approaching 'similar' has been explored in a different way in two fictional works before. As we recently discovered (last week 10-10-2023) using online Chat AI:
ANNE RICE - "THE MUMMY" 1989
There is a novel “The Mummy” by Anne Rice, published in 1989, the main character is Ramses the Great, an ancient Egyptian pharaoh who is resurrected by a potion and falls in love with a modern woman named Julie. He also encounters
Cleopatra, who was also revived by the same potion and seeks to reclaim her power [1]. There is no cloning technology involved, the basis is entirely mystical and magical. Hence, unexplained. Though we have not read the novel, or its sequel, Wikipedia gives an account of the plot,
that is flawed, in that Cleopatra's mummy has not been discovered, and would certainly not be in a museum as described. Making a mockery of efforts of archaeologists to find the missing
Egyptian
Queen. There is no mention of Mark
Antony, or Cleopatra wishing to reincarnate him, just gain revenge. Regardless of the main flaw in the plot concerning
Cleopatra's mummy languishing undiscovered in Cairo
Museum, the book sounds like an interesting read
- and we'll put it on our list as time allows.
In the comic book series “The Sandman” by Neil Gaiman, published from 1989 to 1996, one of the characters is Thessaly, a powerful witch who claims to have been Cleopatra’s lover in her past life. She also participates in a ritual to resurrect the dead god Morpheus [2].
As with Anne Rice's version, the resurrection theme does not involve the discovery of Cleopatra's mummy, or
modern cloning technology.
In the video game “Assassin’s Creed Origins” by Ubisoft, released in 2017, the player can explore ancient Egypt and interact with historical figures such as Cleopatra,
Julius
Caesar, and Ptolemy
XIII. The game also features a secret tomb of Alexander the
Great, who was allegedly cloned by a mysterious organization called the First Civilization [3]. Thus, the concept of cloning the long lost mummy of Cleopatra, is new and original, according to a recent AI web search. These links were cited:
To date, we have engendered THREE adaptations of the technology based reincarnation theme/concept. So demonstrating the enormous potential for films and publication:
- In the 1st draft adaptation, the antagonists are psuedo (Nazi) occultists stemming from Brazil, seeking to create an Aryan master race, who, having acquired the technology, and found Cleopatra's mummy, proceed to clone her. (Script published 17 Feb 2023)
- In the 2nd draft adaptation, the antagonists are biological research scientists members of Novus Illuminatum, based in Europe, accepting a $10b wager from the worlds' richest man, to prove the capabilities of their newly developed DNA genetic modification and cloning technology.
- In the 3rd draft adaptation, the antagonist is Professor Krafenstein, actually, Baron Victor Frankenstein VI, following in the footsteps of his infamous descendents, taking up the torch, as he acquires a sample of Cleopatra VII Philopator's DNA from John Storm, and cannot resist the temptation to recreate the most famous woman in history.
Other adaptations (treatments) of the Mummy theme, involving the reincarnation of Cleopatra, are under consideration in this series. ELIZABETH SWANN
The proposed adaptations of the Cleopatra stories, need not include the Elizabeth Swann. Though, the Egyptian Queen and her lover, Mark Antony, were very fond of boats and ships. Hence, the Swann would be Egyptian-ised in design, being mostly there already, as Solar Boats were a part of their beliefs, including the Sun God: Ra. Without any doubt, the weaponry onboard the Swann, would be of tremendous interest to the reborn Cleopatra VII, following her defeat at the Battle of Actium in 31BCE. In terms of value for money, and sequels, the Swann is a budget build, considerably lower dollar wise than the ships in Master & Commander. Adding considerably to the armoury of clean tech, in a franchise seeking to raise ocean awareness.
THONIS-HERACLEION was Egypt’s greatest port for much of the first millennium B.C. before Alexander the Great established Alexandria in 331 B.C. Then around 365 A.D. both cities vanished beneath the Mediterranean sea, hiding the location of Queen Cleopatra's tomb - confounding archaeologists - until now.
REINCARNATION - Using the latest technology in super-computer genome mapping and digital DNA splicing, a group of scientists looking for the cure for cancer reincarnate Cleopatra VII, John Storm having found and recovered her sarcophagus from its watery tomb. The resurrected Queen has to mesh with the modern world she's been reborn into. But the CIA plot to steal the technology that brought the reborn Pharaoh back to life, to advance their military capabilities. Neither had reckoned on John Storm and his crew.

CLEOPATRA VS FRANKENSTEIN - The 3rd original adaptation of the reincarnated mummy theme. John Storm, as a Blue Shield operative, surveys the sunken city of Alexandria recently disturbed by earthquake, and finally finds Cleopatra's mummy. Swiss Professor Dr Krafenstein (Wealthy Baron Victor Frankenstein VI under his assumed name) working in Zurich has secretly developed a technique for replicating humans, made possible having purchased the CyberCore Genetica™ from William Bates (Billy the Kid). The Professor, along with others have refined a CRISPR virus that enhances human DNA, having surpassed known cloning techniques. This cohort have also perfected an organic chip, that interfaces with the brain called BioCore™. Professor Krafenstein persuades John Storm to supply a sample of Cleopatra's DNA, for the ETH University to run further investigations as to Macedonian lineage.
